Sinem's current project 2009/2010

A one hour independently funded documentary which journeys into the heart of Australia's Indigenous relations, in search of ways forward that respect Aboriginal culture, land and dignity. With a focus on the first hand stories from the Yolngu people of Elcho Island in N.E Arnhem Land, this documentary observes Australia's ongoing drive to forcibly assimilate the oldest living culture on earth. It illustrates the unbridged gulf between mainstream and Aboriginal undertandings of each other, and the outstanding need to work together for our country's future.
